Dean Taylor is the director of Sunshine Coast Orthotics & Podiatry. Being brought up in the small Central Queensland mining town of Blackwater and visiting the Sunshine Coast on holidays for many years, Dean is happy to now call this region his permanent home base.
Completing senior schooling at the Rockhampton Grammar School and an undergraduate degree in Sport & Exercise Science at the University of the Sunshine Coast, Dean went on to study Podiatry at Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane. Since 2012 Dean has worked on the Sunshine Coast in a previous Podiatry business venture gaining a wealth of experience both personally and clinically.
Dean is a member of the Australian Podiatry Association, Sports Medicine Australia and regularly attends state and national conferences along with numerous special interest group seminars. Being a graduate of QUT Dean maintains a strong association with the University and is fortunate enough to take practical student placements and assist with mentoring programs.
Short of specialising in one particular professional area, Dean is passionate about Sports and Biomechanical Podiatry in the Paediatric, active and ageing population. Many years of experience in the footwear and orthotic manufacture industry has given Dean the edge when it comes to complex cases, which he actively seeks out on a regular basis.
Dean has represented his state and country in touch football, competed in triathlon/multisport events and is a mid-handicap golfer who loves the challenge of the game. Outside of running Sunshine Coast Orthotics & Podiatry Dean is a Twin Waters local who likes to keep active and is on staff at Rebel Sport Maroochydore where he offers his assistance fitting shoes and lifting the profile of the Podiatry profession.
